AT KLINGSPOR, we’re proud of our QDC (Quick Disc Connect) discs.
Since their inception over 20 years ago, they’ve been continuously
improved upon with the current QDC being one of the most versatile
sanding and grinding tools on the market. Their modest appearance
can be misleading……QDC’s pack a powerful punch!
Perfect for many jobs around the shop and in production
situations, you’ll find QDC’s to be nearly indispensable after you
get hooked on them. The KLINGSPOR QDC is ideal for general purpose
grinding of small or hard-to-reach areas, blending, deburring, and
removal of weld beads and flash. In addition to metal working,
you’ll also find uses in the wood shop for these multipurpose discs.
QDC’s utilize a unique locking system that is both quick and
dependable. Our specially designed mandrel with a 1/4" shank has a
"T" lock top that fits securely into a channel on the heat resistant
QDC backing plate. This is the basis for super-fast disc changes
that reduce downtime and allow the user to change to a different
size and/or grit without tools.
With other quick-change disc systems, you must use and re-use the
same backing plate over and over. As time goes on, these backing
plates become worn, have a change in firmness, and ultimately must
be replaced with another relatively expensive holder pad. The QDC
system however, gives you a fresh new backing plate each and every
time – the abrasive is applied directly to the backing plate making
it an easy all-in-one product.
In addition, other systems require a different size holder pad
for each diameter disc, while the QDC discs share mandrels (the 1"
and 1 1/2" use one mandrel, the 2", 3" & 4" use another mandrel) so
you reduce cost and cut down on shop clutter.
